Think spring, think baseball: Monday is truck day at McCoy

The Pawtucket Red Sox said the Boston Red Sox spring training equipment truck will make a stop at McCoy Stadium on Monday.

The team is inviting baseball fans of all ages to welcome the truck and then send it on its way.

The truck will stop in Pawtucket at about 1 p.m. while on its way to Fort Myers, Florida, for spring training.

The truck carries 20,400 baseballs, 1,100 bats, 200 pairs of batting gloves and helmets, 300 pairs of pants, and 60 cases of sunflower seeds.

Linda Ruth Tosetti , the granddaughter of Babe Ruth, will all be among the dignitaries to greet fans.

Fans who bring a donation for the Rhode Island Food Bank will receive a general admission ticket to opening night at McCoy on April 6.

Boston Red Sox pitchers and catchers report to spring training on Feb. 14.
