WJAR NBC 10 wins November 2017 ratings
From Sunrise to the Night Team, WJAR NBC 10 is No. 1 in all time periods, including America’s No. 1 7 p.m. local news
Southern New England’s News Leader, WJAR NBC 10, was once again the most watched television news station in the region and ranks among the top television stations in the nation. In the recently completed November ratings period, NBC 10 News at 7 also retained its crown as America’s highest rated 7 p.m. local newscast.
WJAR NBC 10 beat all other competitors in the Providence/New Bedford market in the coveted persons 25-54 demographic in 9 out of 10 newscasts (tying for the lead at 4:30 a.m.). WJAR NBC 10 also won 8 of 10 newscasts in household ratings. The powerful NBC 10 Sunrise newscast continues to be Southern New England’s top choice in the morning. More people watch NBC 10 Sunrise between 4:30-7:00 a.m. than any other newscast.
Head to head with NBC Boston, WJAR NBC 10 had more than double the households at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., despite the Boston market being nearly four times the size of Providence/New Bedford.
“We’re pleased that so many Southern New Englanders ‘Turn to 10’ each day for their local news,” said Scott Isaacs, News Director. “We’ve had an incredibly busy news period with powerful storms that Storm Team 10’s R.J. Heim accurately predicted would cause widespread wind damage. NBC 10 held utilities accountable for what many called a slow response.”
“When a wild police-involved shooting took place on a busy interstate – first thought to be linked to the theft of a stolen police cruiser - the NBC 10 I-Team led the way in getting answers,” continued Isaacs. “And, we uncovered evidence of ticket quotas at a local police department – even though it’s illegal in Rhode Island – leading the ACLU to take action.”
