Meaghan Mooney is thrilled to be back in her home state and back on the air at NBC 10 (more on that below) as the station's traffic anchor and lifestyle reporter.
As an experienced TV host, lifestyle reporter, published style expert and blogger, Meaghan most recently was the lifestyle correspondent and co-host at WUSA9 in Washington, D.C. She helped launch a brand new live morning talk show that covered everything from celebrities and sports to fashion and food that was happening in Washington, Maryland and Virginia.
Prior to working in our nation's capital, Meaghan was the lifestyle correspondent, fill-in co-host and style contributor in Denver for KDVR and KWGN's live morning talk shows. Before moving to Denver, Meaghan won WPRI's annual "Search for a Star" contest and co-hosted "The Rhode Show" for a year. She landed this full-time position in Rhode Island while commuting from New York City, where she called home away from home for seven years.
Meaghan moved to the Big Apple with a fresh diploma in hand after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Rhode Island. For five years, she worked at Conde Nast Publications, where she helped build new business for the publisher's world-renowned brands, including Allure, Brides, Vogue and The New Yorker.
An opportunity hosting videos for Brides Magazine sparked Meaghan's interest to break into the TV industry. She became a stylist to hone an expertise and took improv and on-camera classes with a media coach. But it was her experience as a kid reporter at age 10 that made her a natural at it. That's right, Meaghan got her start on TV right here at NBC 10 in the early 1990s on a show called, "Kids Watch 10." #Flashback!
For years, Meaghan's been taking viewers, and her loyal social media fan base, on exciting journeys. Everything from going indoor skydiving to grilling burgers with celebrity chef Bobby Flay. She's even taken viewers with her on a first date through the "It's Just Lunch" process in search of a love, and capturing it all on camera for a self-produced series leading up to Valentine's Day.
When Meaghan's not working, she loves staying active with hot yoga, jogs along the beach wall in Narragansett and spending time with her adopted dog, Tilly. Plus, her love for travel, food and family keep her busy, as made apparent on her social media pages! Meaghan also works with the American Academy of Dermatology and locally with the Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County on causes that are close to her personally.
While Meaghan knows the roads and how to pronounce the names of our towns and cities, she doesn’t know about all the wonderful places to go and people to see in Southern New England. She wants to hear from you!
