Tuesday's Child Jasmine ready for her closeup
Eleven-year-old Jasmine and photographer Keith Jochem are committed to creating a great portrait that tells a story and that lets her personality shine through.
She's learning how to relax and smile naturally.
"It was like very odd because I had to be a model," said Jasmine.
As Jochem studies who Jasmine is, his wife brings out the fun in her.
With patience, he discovers the essence of Jasmine in the final pictures. She's not a little girl anymore.
"She was reaching out to you at an important time in her life," Jochem said.
Many children in state care have never had their pictures taken by a professional photographer. That's why local photographers donate their time and talent.
The picture will go into the Adoption Rhode Island Heart Gallery, a traveling gallery of foster children. And just maybe, someone will see it and consider one thing.
"That they could adopt me," Jasmine said.
