Keeping an eye on early next week

Low pressure offshore COULD pass close enough early next week to bring some snow to the area

I hope you enjoy your weekend, after all the frigid temps will take a backseat for a couple of days. Highs will reach to around 50 degrees for many areas both days.
Something we should just keep an eye on this weekend, however, is the forecast for Monday into early Tuesday.

By no means is it a certainty that we will see some accumulating snow Monday & Tuesday BUT there are signs which suggest we should at least prepare for that possibility.
Here's a look at a few of the various computer model scenarios:
This is the American GFS model, targets the Monday evening commute as a potential trouble time:

Next up is the Canadian forecast model, similar to its American counterpart with the timing and track of the storm:

Finally the European forecast model. This targets Tuesday morning as the time for a chance of snow, NOT Monday evening:

I should also point that while the signals are there for a period of snow, we very well could see these models change their tune a bit over the weekend as atmospheric elements come together.

So, lots to iron out over the weekend both in terms of when AND if this system will impact us. Just a head's up to keep an eye on developments over the next couple of days.

Thanks for reading, Mark
