Next moderate snowmaker comes Tuesday into Wednesday

We're at 21.5" of snow for the 2017/2018 winter season so far at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, the National Weather Service reporting station for Providence. And we may be adding a few more inches to that total with the next system looking to arrive Tuesday afternoon/evening, ending midday Wednesday. As of right now, it's not expected to be a major storm, nor a particularly light one either. Somewhere in the middle.

This Guidance Model, the GFS, suggests 0.49" of liquid precip, that would equal about 5" of snow.

After that, briefly colder air will be replaced by a multi-day warm-up, with temperatures making a run into the 50's for the upcoming weekend.
