Temperatures are hovering at or near freezing in the northern half of Southern New England overnight into Thursday morning as a band of rain moves through.
In the areas shaded in blue, the "Winter Weather Advisory," there is the potential for freezing rain which causes slick travel on untreated surfaces.
Locations closer to the coast and islands will experience temperatures above freezing, producing just rain.
Thursday is expected to be rather dreary with some on/off showers.
More rain is on the way Thursday overnight into Friday morning.
That will be followed by a colder than average weekend.
