The weekend will finish with a mix of sun and clouds and chilly temperatures. Sunday will be dry, as will Monday. All eyes are really on Tuesday. The Tuesday morning commute is looking dry without weather problems. Can’t say the same for the late commute.
As of today, the Tuesday late commute will see the biggest threat for slippery roads as we have the potential for accumulating snow and sleet. The forecast involves mixing precipitation types as warmer air will move in as the system moves through.
There are still elements of uncertainty with the storm like when the warm air gets here and where the track of the center of the storm will go.
These things will determine how much of the storm we will see as snow and how much/ where sleet and freezing rain, we will see. The late commute will likely have minor accumulations of sleet and snow and roads will be slippery. Areas away from the coast will also likely have a period of freezing rain. Eventually we will transition over to all rain with the precipitation ending Wednesday.
Meanwhile, coastal areas will likely go from snow directly to rain. Please stay tuned to Storm Team 10 for updates concerning this storm as changes to the forecast are indeed expected.
